An alarming increase in the number of incidents of attempted or actual violence requiring Police attendance impacting on both staff, pupils and the communities, it would appear that staff in some areas and some schools are losing the battle.
Support and discipline needs to be utilised in equal measures to all parties, the staff need to be better trained to spot the warning signs and signals prior to violent behaviour, the old adage ” prevention is better than cure” to calm a situation before it escalates, has to be better for all concerned.
